Our ‘Estate’ range of wines are single-vineyard wines from our Merriworth Road estate. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and winery, with traditional techniques allowing the natural vineyard expression to shine.
The 2025 vintage was a standout for the Coal River Valley with above average rains in winter and early spring providing the vines with the base moisture levels needed in the lead-up to the warmer months. A warm, sunny start to summer provided excellent conditions for pollination and fruit set. Summer proceeded with the usual dry conditions and higher-than-average temperatures, providing perfect conditions for berry development.
The warm conditions continued through to harvest and ideal picking conditions. Harvest of our Esate Pinot Noir grapes occurred on the 11th (114 clone) and 14th April (H7V15, 0013,0014, D2V5 clones).
Following harvest, the grapes were crushed, destemmed and placed into small batch open fermenters. Inoculated with a neutral yeast and cap plunge undertaken twice a day for the first 5 days. Malolactic fermentation was completed during primary fermentation. The wine was then racked to a mix of 20% new and 80% four and five-year-old French puncheons, then left to mature for 10 months. Bottled on the 1st April 2026.
