Description
Our Traditions range is a celebration of traditional winemaking methods that have been employed by winemakers throughout the centuries. Foot-stomped, basket pressed and hand-corked/labelled, Traditions is a true labour of love. These gentle processes extract the essence of the fruit from our Tea Tree vineyard to produce wines that burst with flavour and supple mouthfeel.
The 2025 vintage was a standout for the Coal River Valley with above average rains in winter and early spring, providing the vines with the base moisture levels needed in the lead-up to the warmer months. A warm, sunny start to summer provided excellent conditions for pollination and fruit set. Summer proceeded with the usual dry conditions and higher-than-average temperatures, providing perfect conditions for berry development. The warm conditions continued through to harvest on the 30th March 2025 (115 clone) and the 11th April (MV6 clone).
From a selection of 2 Pinot Noir clones the fruit was hand-picked and cold soaked for 3 days prior to processing. 80% of grapes were footstomped prior to fermentation in open vats for 10 days. 20% was fermented as whole bunches. The wine was then pressed by hand (ratchet basket press) and matured for 11 months in french oak barriques with a final blend of 33% new oak. Bottled in the last week of March 2026.
