Description
Our ‘Estate’ range of wines are single-vineyard wines from our Merriworth Road estate. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and winery, with traditional techniques allowing the natural vineyard expression to shine.
The 2023 vintage was very dry and warm. Excellent growing conditions generally with ideal conditions for fruit development through Feburary and March with harvest on the 4th and 5th of April 2023.
Following harvest, the grapes were crushed, destemmed and placed into small batch open fermenters. Inoculated with a neutral yeast and cap plunge undertaken twice a day for the first 5 days. Malolactic fermentation was completed during primary fermentation. The wine was then racked to a mix of 25% new and 75% four and five-year-old French puncheons, then left to mature for 9 months. Blended and bottled in March 2024.
