Description
Our ‘Estate’ range of wines are single-vineyard wines from our Merriworth Road estate. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention both in the vineyard and winery, with traditional techniques allowing the natural vineyard expression to shine.
The outstanding 2024 vintage presented excellent conditions in the Merriworth vineyard. Good spring rains gave way to a dry summer and autumn with ideal conditions for fruit development through Feburary and March with harvest on the 3rd- 5th of April 2024.
Following harvest, the grapes were crushed, destemmed and placed into small batch open fermenters. Inoculated with a neutral yeast and cap plunge undertaken twice a day for the first 5 days. Malolactic fermentation was completed during primary fermentation. The wine was then racked to a mix of 25% new and 75% four and five-year-old French puncheons, then left to mature for 9 months. Blended and bottled in January 2025.
