Description
Our Traditions range is a celebration of traditional winemaking methods that have been employed by winemakers throughout the centuries. Foot-stomped, basket pressed and hand-corked/labelled, Traditions is a true labour of love. These gentle processes extract the essence of the fruit from our Tea Tree vineyard to produce wines that burst with flavour and supple mouthfeel.
Following healthy winter and early-Spring rains, the 2024 vintage presented us with excellent conditions throughout the growing season. Sunny, warm days provided ideal conditions for pollination and fruit development into summer. The dry conditions continued through to harvest on the 10th April 2024.
From a selection of 3 Pinot Noir clones the fruit was hand-picked and cold soaked for 3 days prior to processing. 70% of grapes were footstomped prior to fermentation in open vats for 10 days. 30% was fermented as whole bunches. The wine was then pressed by hand (basket press) and matured for 11 months in french oak barriques with a final blend of 33% new oak. Bottled in late March 2025.
